The EDGE (Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education) program supports women getting PhDs in the mathematical sciences.  Any woman who is about to start a Ph.D. Program in math, applied math, statistics or  other mathematical science is strongly encouraged to apply.  The program starts with a four-week “boot camp” which includes a review of analysis, linear algebra and abstract algebra, with a focus on problem solving.  The summer program also includes a minicourse on a current “hot topic” and facilitates community building, mentoring and networking.  Ongoing mentoring and support is provided throughout the participants’ graduate careers, and beyond.

The 2017 EDGE summer session will be held June 5 – July 1, 2017 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. The local coordinators are Edray Goins (Purdue University) and Alejandra Alvarado (Eastern Illinois University). Participants receive a $3000 stipend plus travel, room and board. The application deadline for the program is this Friday, March 3.  Get your application in by Friday, and you can take an additional week to upload your transcript, CV and two letters of recommendation.  Participants to the program will be announced in mid-April.
